PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ

and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

To nurture our faith through prayer and

Bible study,

To support the mission of the Church worldwide,

To work for justice and peace, and

To build an inclusive, caring community of women

that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA)

and witness to the promise of God's Kingdon

Presbyterian Women of First Presbyterian-Georgetown have a rich history of service, Bible study and fellowship.

Our PW has two circles--the Betsy Bradley Circle (morning circle) and the Night Circle.

The Betsy Bradley Circle meets on the first Monday of the month, except in the summer, at 9:30 a.m. in members' homes.  Rachel Schmidt is moderator and Sarah Henry serves as treasurer.  This circle is named for the late Betsy Bradley  who was a tireless worker and leader in the women's organization as well as our entire church.

The Night Circle meets on the first Monday evening and rotates among members' homes and the church Fellowship Hall.  Goldia Thomas is moderator and Clara Mae Harpole is treasurer.

Times and places of Circle meetings and Gatherings are announced in the Sunday worship bulletin and on the website.

In addition to circles, we have a Coordinating Team composed of representatives of each circle.  The purpose of the CT is to coordinate activities of the circles and plan gatherings and activities for all of the women of the church.

CT officers include: Moderator, Carol Guerdan; Vice Moderator, Rachel Schmidt ; Secretary,  Sarah Henry; and Treasurer, Barbara Smith.   Other members include Clara Harpole, Goldia Thomas, Julie Stone and Annie Barbara Friedly.

Our PW contributes to the Thank Offering and Birthday Offering of the PW.  Members' contributions support the PW in the congregation and the Circle. Our PW participates in PW activities at the presbytery, synod and denomination levels.
