Historic First Presbyterian Church
Georgetown, Kentucky
Our Mission
The Mission of Historic First Presbyterian Church is to empower the community to be Christ's disciples.
Our Vision
Having served this community since 1828, we reflect on our past with pride, and give thanks for how we have trusted God to guide us through joyful and difficult times. We seek to be more Christ-like in our dealings with each other and our community. In response to the opportunities and challenges of a growing and changing community of faith, we commit ourselves to a renewed mission…
To value the presence, participation and gifts of all our members, respecting one another as children of God regardless of our backgrounds and opinions.
To provide more opportunities for spiritual growth through Bible study and instruction.
To strengthen relationships in the church by providing more opportunities for sharing Christian fellowship in small groups.
To strengthen and expand opportunities for youth involvement in the church and community and seek the involvement of young people in a significant way in the life and ministry of the church.
To offer ourselves in service to God and our community by providing more opportunities for and encouraging greater participation in service and outreach programs.
To continue to be a warm, friendly church by inviting, welcoming, responding to, and incorporating visitors and new members into our church family.
To plan and implement our programs supported and guided by open and effective communication between members of the church, Session, Pastor, and the community.
To maintain, renovate, and expand our physical church structure in order to support our needs and mission.
We seek God’s guidance for the new things God is calling us to do, trusting that the Holy Spirit will work among us, giving us new energy, new direction and new purpose.
To God be all thanks and glory, through Him all things are possible.
