 Epistle to the Youth 

 The Youth Group is organized by a Youth Council of consisting of youth and adult church members; it is responsible for planning and coordinating all Youth Group activities. The Youth Council is a sub-committee of the Christian Education Committee. 2010Youth Council officers are: Carol Preston (Chair), Cindy Steele (Secretary), Tracie Chew (Treasurer and Meal Coordinator), Alex Hensley (Historian), Abby Preston (Historian), Elizabeth Agnew (Historian), Clay Chew (Youth Representative), and Blake Vickers (Youth Representative). The Youth Council meets regularly on the first Sunday of the month at 5 pm.

Our Youth Group Vision

  • Provide an environment to develop friendships with other Christian youth
  • Learn and deepen faith in God and Christ Jesus
  • Grow as an individual towards adulthood
  • Provide a format for service and growth within the church and community
  • Grow as an individual towards adulthood
  • Provide opportunities for recreational and service activities

The Youth Group regularly meets on the first and third Sundays of the month at 6 pm; dinner is provided. It is open to all member family youth in grades 6 through 12; and all graduating 5th graders in June. Youth are also encouraged to bring age appropriate friends to most activities.

Activities are planned by the Youth Council so that there is a balance between faith enrichment, fun and fellowship, and service to the church and community. Past activities include hiking at Natural Bridge, challenge course at Life Adventure Center, skiing/tubing at Perfect North, Christmas caroling, assisting with VBS. In 2007, our youth took a 3 day mission trip to Buckhorn's Childrens Home.

In accordance with the church's safety policy, information and permission forms are required for all youth participating in Youth Group activities.
